NYC NIGHTLIFE PORTRAITURE:

A LOVE LETTER TO THE ONES WHO MAKE IT HAPPEN

As a student, I designed an NYU degree in the ethics of visual journalism in the digital age.

I have a very specific style in documenting my community: cinematic, energetic, and intimate.

In recent years, I began photographing on New York City nightlife, and more specifically, the ones who make it happen.

I joke that these bars raised me, and in a very real way, they did. They're what got me through, they're what brought me my chosen family.

NYC's hospitality industry is filled with some of most richest souls, strongest minds, and most open hearts you will ever meet. We're there for each other through life's most trying moments, from holiday shifts, to funerals, to wedding celebrations.

This is my love letter to them. Written by the hand of gratitude and nightlife portraiture.

This series is a love letter to the workers who hold it all down—the bartenders, the door staff, the ones behind the scenes making the magic happen. It’s about honoring the labor, the craft, and the joy they bring to the night. These portraits celebrate the people who make the city feel like home after dark.
